Fantasy Football Prizes
If you wish to play fantasy football mainly because of the
prizes you expect to win, you'd do well to familiarize yourself
with the following:
Choice of League
The chances of winning fantasy football prizes largely rely on
how well you play as well as the level of familiarity and skills
you have with a given type of league. If you want to win, you
should definitely play in a league you're more familiar with and
never mind the number of opponents you're facing.
Entry Fee
Prizes are almost always offered to leagues with entry fees.
Without it, you can't participate in the league. Consider your
entry fee as your investment. In fantasy football, a more expensive
entry fee usually means greater prizes.
Prize Payout Percentage
This determines the percentage of winners in a given number of
participants. In most cases, prize payout percentages increase in
proportion to an increase of entry fee costs. Prize payout
percentages decrease, however, when the number of participants
increases.
Team of the Week
Many leagues offer prizes to the team with the highest number of
points each week. If you don't think you have a fighting chance of
building an excellent fantasy football team, you could at least
aspire to win Team of the Week or any equivalent award. If Team of
the Week is your targeted fantasy football prize, make sure you
consider how much and when it is offered. Some leagues, for
instance, will offer this prize only from Weeks 1 to 30. Other
leagues have special rules such as automatically excluding the top
four teams from winning the award.
Trades and Other Lineup Changes
Playing fantasy football is sometimes like doing business. There
are times when you need to weigh the costs and profit of joining a
particular league. One factor to consider is trades. Will the
league charge you for every trade you make? If not, how many free
trades are you allowed? What about other changes you can make with
your roster? Will you be charged for those as well? Keep in mind
that each fee you pay should be deducted from the prize value to
determine the latter's net worth.
Real-Time Stats Options
Some websites only offer this very crucial feature to leagues
with higher entry fee costs. You can, of course, perform your own
research but this will mean exerting more time and effort.
Last but not least, there are more chances for you to win
fantasy football prizes just as long as you're willing to work and
play hard for it. So practice and play constantly!
